For many online courses, you may find yourself needing a quick and easy way to cite any sources that you use. Creating a reference page with all of your sources can be extremely useful for your students. Plus, remember to always give credit where it is necessary. Bibme is a free automatic bibliography maker with auto-fill. With this tool, all you have to do is search for a book, website, article, or film – or fill in the information yourself. Add it to your bibliography and download in MLA, APA, Chicago, or Turabian format! This is a quick how-to on creating your own bibliography with Bibme.
First, select your source type from the blue box on the home page. For this example, we chose “Website.” Enter the title of your source or paste the website URL, and click “Find.”
The form will automatically load the majority of the source information. Feel free to enter in any remaining info, such as “Publisher” or “Date Created.” Once your desired information is complete, click “Add to My Bibliography” at the bottom of the form.
That individual source citation has been added to your bibliography. At the top of your bibliography box, you can chose your desired format type (MLA, APA, Chicago, or Turabian). You can create as many citations as you’d like and when you’re ready, you can download your entire bibliography. Be sure you are logged into Bibme, and then click “Download to Word.” Once you download your bibliography, you can manipulate it further or save it as a PDF to upload to your online course! It’s really that easy!
