Asheville, NC – May 7, 2013
Code for Asheville is a group of developers, designers, data geeks, leaders, and idea-makers who volunteer to help Asheville government and civic organizations adopt open web technologies. The group is presenting their first ever Hack for Food to develop innovative solutions for local food systems, spurring local economic development and making food systems environmentally sustainable and socially just.
The hackathon is taking place in honor of the National Day of Civic Hacking, a nationwide opportunity for software developers, technologists, and entrepreneurs to unleash their can-do American spirit by collaboratively harnessing publicly-released data and code to create innovative solutions for problems that affect Americans.
Whether you are a software coder or a citizen interested in local food systems, you can join the hackathon on June 1st at AB Tech.
