August 1, 2011 – Asheville, NC

DigitalChalk is proud to announce that they have been chosen as the online delivery platform for the newly released the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, an interactive online learning program that enables participants to learn directly from the firsthand experiences of successful real-world entrepreneurs. The Ice House program will be delivered online to students across the US and Worldwide through the Chalkboard video learning suite in DigitalChalk.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program is supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and created through a collaboration with the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative and Pulitzer Prize nominee Clifton Taulbert, author of the book, Who Owns the Icehouse? Who Owns the Icehouse is a first hand experiential story based on the influence of the entrepreneurial mindset and eight essential life-lessons Taulbert gained from his Uncle Cleve, an unlikely entrepreneur in the segregated South.

“The Ice House program helps plant the seeds of entrepreneurship in the next generation. We believe that it takes the kind of mindset Clifton teaches to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. We are thrilled to be a part of this initiative,” stated Russ Stinehour, President of DigitalChalk.

The eight life lessons described in the book have been presented in the online learning format and combine narrative presentations with video interviews and case studies that feature present day examples of entrepreneurs who have pursued their dreams regardless of hardship and adversity and succeeded like Taulbert’s Uncle in the book conquered hardship and adversity. In addition, each lesson includes individual learning assessments, discussion topics and assignments designed to maximize comprehension and be applicable to real world situations in all walks of life.

The Ice House Entrepreneurship Program already has caught the attention of educators, community development groups and other organizations across the United States and throughout the world.
The course also provides access to an online entrepreneurial learning community that enables participants and facilitators to share their knowledge and experience with other entrepreneurs and educators within their own communities as well as others across the country and around the world.
