Did you catch the first part of this blog post last week? We covered the basics on creating prerequisites using the registration rules feature.
The other option you can choose from, or use along with registration rules, is the catalog rules feature. This feature allows you to select which courses users can and can’t see in the catalog, and so this is great for limiting what the user can register for.
To begin setting up a catalog rule you will want to:
- Go to the ‘Administration’ tab and select ‘Catalog’ from the left side menu.
- Click the ‘Add’ button.
3. Select one of the options in the window that opens up and the prerequisites that you can choose from are user tags, and user fields. You can select these options both under the ‘Add’ and ‘Remove’ tabs.
4. Once you are done setting up the catalog rule completely hit the ‘Save’ button and it will be active, and users will only be able to register for courses if they meet all prerequisites you have put in place.
Setting up prerequisites for your courses puts you in control of who can take what courses seamlessly, and DigitalChalk lets you do that quickly and easily.
